Clarence Joseph Buckner, Jr., 49, was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with all but eight years suspended, though the first five will be served without the possibility of parole, Maryland AG Anthony Brown announced on Wednesday.

The Baltimore native became the target of a massive joint investigation in January 2022 that led to Buckner selling to undercover officers in the Eastern district of the city.

The probe into him came to a head in June 2022, when officers seized a weapon and “large amounts of controlled dangerous substances and packaging materials” during a search warrant at his home in Baltimore.

Buckner pleaded guilty to volume dealer/possession of a large amount of fentanyl mixture, and distribution of cocaine. When he is released from prison, he will also serve five years of supervised probation.
